My weekly fitness routine consists of 6 days of exercise during the week. Being a working mom, the only time I can work out is early morning. Pre-pandemic times, I would to go to Planet Fitness Gym ($10/month). However, due to the pandemic, I have been doing home workouts. Basically, Monday-Friday I alternate between Cardio (dance workouts!) and Strength Training workouts. Saturday mornings I hike around my neighborhood with my hubby.
I like using the AAPTIV fitness app because there are a lot of workouts to choose from based on your fitness level and how much time you want to spend. The best part is that there are demonstrations of how to do the exercises as well. (Other apps just tell you what exercises you should do. I like this app because it lets me see in real-time “how-to” do the actual exercises.) The app is $99 a year (after the 30 day free trial) , but I googled searched a special promo code and got it for 50% off. So, $4.16/month for me doesn’t seem as bad.
Here is a sample of my weekly workout schedule:
Monday: Cardio: Zumba (DVD) 30 minutes Zumba Incredible Slimdown Weight Loss Dance Workout DVD System
Tuesday: Strength training : AAPTIV fitness app : 22 minutes
Wednesday: Cardio: Zumba (DVD) 30 minutes
Thursday: Strength training: AAPTIV fitness app: 24 minutes
Friday: Cardio: Cize Dance (DVD) 30 minutes Beachbody CIZE Dance Workout
Saturday: Cardio: Hiking 1 hour
Sundays: I either rest or try trying unique workout experiences on this day. I sign up for drop-in classes in my area like Paddleboard Pilates, Yoga at the Brewery, Hops and Squats. I also tried a beginners contortionist class with https://fitandbendy.com/ They have a variety of fun online drop in classes for improving strength and flexibility.
